Gary Snyder
Gary Snyder (1930 - ) is a man of letters. Born in San Francisco he is best known as a poet (of the Beat generation) he is also an essayist, lecturer and environmental activist. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1975 for his book of poetry titled ’Turtle Island.

frost haze, the sky glows
with the moon
pine tree tops
bend snow-blue, fade
into sky, frost, starlight.
