Linda Gregg
Linda Gregg (1942-2019) born in Suffolk, New York, she grew up in Marin County, California. and received her BA and MA from San Francisco State University. She taught at the University of Iowa, Columbia University, the University of California at Berkeley, and Princeton University. Her first book of poems, Too Bright to See, was published by Graywolf Press in 1981. She went on to publish several collections of poetry, and receive numerous awards.

An owl lands on the side
of the road. Turns its head
to look at me going fast,
window open to the night
on the desert. Clean air,
and the great stars.
