Alan Abrams is a retired carpenter, builder and architect with defective credentials. He occasionally writes stories and poems. His poem Aleinu was nominated for the 2023 Pushcart Prize.

Untroubled

Now might be a good time

To believe in something else

A leafless sycamore perhaps

Tall enough to snag a passing cloud

Or a boulder in a stream

That parts rushing water

As three raucous crows

Harass a red tail hawk

Unashamed of nakedness

Untroubled by tomorrow
